    Sometimes, you need to be sure that your experiments run properly on your website. For this particular situation, you have the option to use a special tracking code on the environment, even though the main tracking code is deactivated.

    For example:

    You have installed the tracking code and have some on-going experiments. You want to add some more experiments, but you are not quite sure if they work properly. The classic solution would be to remove the tracking code from your website, insert it on the testing environment, and then put it back in the production environment. Complicated, right?

    The solution generated with the special tracking code works as follows:

    • Deactivate tracking code (you can do it in the application’s dashboard):
    • Install special tracking code on the testing environment (this code contains the same experiments as in your dashboard);
    • Testing;
    • Reactivate tracking code.
