You can create personalized and relevant communication for your customers by leveraging the RFM Group and / or the RFM Score within each of your Mailchimp email campaigns, if Mailchimp is your email marketing tool and your Mailchimp account is integrated with your Shopify account through ShopSync.
How to send RFM Group Names and RFM Scores into Mailchimp?
Customer RFM-related information can be synced into Shopify. The RFM Group Name and RFM Score tags can be manually added to ShopSync and then automatically imported into Mailchimp.
Syncing the RFM-related information into Shopify
Syncing the RFM-related information back into Shopify is a Limited Preview feature at the moment. The first step is to contact our Customer Support team to have it activated (by writing a message in the chat bubble).
Once you receive our confirmation that the sync is complete, go to your Apps page in Shopify > click on Reveal > select Enabled in the Data Sync section, under Shopify << Reveal.
The data from Reveal is synced into Shopify daily and you can see when was the last sync performed. To re-sync the data at any different time, click the “Re-sync now” button.
Sending the RFM Group Names and RFM scores from Shopify into Mailchimp
First, you need to log into your Shopify admin > Apps > ShopSync.
Scroll down to Shopify Customer Tag Manager and add all RFM Group Name and RFM Score tags (this process only needs to be done once, ShopSync will keep your customer tags in sync with your Mailchimp Audience afterwards).
To populate contact data with the new tags, you’ll need to initiate a force resync. You can find the “Force Resync” button near the bottom of the ShopSync settings panel. It’s important to note that when you initiate a force resync, Mailchimp won’t trigger any automations until the resync process is complete.
When a customer changes the RFM Score and / or the RFM Group, the information is updated in Shopify. If the new tags have been specified in the ShopSync settings, they will also be updated to the customer profile in Mailchimp.
Creating an email campaign based on the RFM Group or RFM Score
In Mailchimp’s Audience Dashboard, the customers are grouped automatically by their tags. You can easily target each segment by clicking the “Send Message” button.
Next, you can choose to create an email, create a Facebook or Instagram ad or a postcard.
Let’s create an email for the Lover RFM Group. Click “Create An Email”.
In the next steps, in the Mailchimp interface, you need to set up your campaign content and schedule when to send the emails to your customers. This Mailchimp article can help you with more details on how to set up your campaign.
