Businesses that have a great online presence know that a high rank in Google can equal great revenue. Even businesses that are about to break into the virtual world also know this.
The rankings found on the first page of the search engines are the coveted spots as many businesses in the same niche compete for it. So you ask the question – how are you going to achieve it?
Links – one of the biggest factors in Google’s rankings. Businesses implement all sorts of SEO strategies to increase quality and quantity of natural links that will help them rank in Google.
What is organic link building?
One of the techniques in having many links and the most underrated one is organic link building. But what is organic link building? How can you build links? This is when other sites use a link to other websites, social media posts, or blogs, without being asked to.
You have nothing to do with it, except, to supply great content that they think is very useful to their readers. It is when other websites use your links as a source, or in other words – a backlink.
So, the more websites talk about you in their content/site, the more Google will see you as a trusted and reliable source. Then, the more likely Google will rank you high.
When you think about organic link building, the hardest part of it is outreach. Manually reaching out to other sites is one tedious work. What you need to pursue is link building services that will help you improve your search traffic and raise your domain authority. Thus, a boost in revenue as well.

Without further ado, let us start.
1. Increasing target audience exposure by blogger outreach
One link building strategy is blogger outreach. It is reaching out to bloggers and collaborating with them to create unique, genuine, and authentic content to promote a product or a service.
By reaching out to bloggers who already have a great engagement with your community, your business benefits from it by increasing your exposure to your own target market.
So, if you are into cooking tools such as pans, utensils, oven pans, trays, you would likely want to reach out to bloggers who review cooking tools and equipment products if it’s good or not on their pages.
For that, you may want to reach out to SeriousEats, and Food52, which are popular blogs in that niche.
The goal here is to reach out to the right bloggers and get them talking about you. But why bloggers?
For one, they don’t just write stuff on the internet, they engage with their audience through authentic, genuine reviews, and most often personal stories.
And this leads to trust – which the Social Media Examiner has called “the digital currency of influence“. Trust drives action, thus making bloggers so powerful, and use it to your advantage to maximize your conversion too!

2. Personalized guest blogging to sites with the same target audience
Reach out to websites in the primary and secondary niche, may it be your competitors, and ask for a guest post blog. And even if it is the case, I tell you, creating marketing content for them has an advantage.
Examples of primary and secondary niches are as follows:
Once you have identified the primary and secondary niches you can really tailor-fit your content to these specific audiences.
And in creating an article, don’t just target high-trafficked keywords in a broad topic. Work around the long-tail keywords as well. These are keywords that are more specific and usually longer than commonly-searched keywords.
The long-tail keywords have low single search volumes. However, this group of keywords still have a huge total search demand as a group. Armed with this data, you can tailor-fit your content targeting this group of keywords.
Take for example the keyword ‘cute cats’. This keyword sits on top of the demand curve because of its popularity. The next keyword ‘the cutest cat in the world’ is already a long-tail keyword since it is down the curve.
The last two would be down the tail due to its unpopular ways of searching the topic. However, these long-tail keywords have numerous search variations that would add up to countless search volumes.
Take a look at this article with a long-tail keyword ‘how to help my husband lose weight’ in the SERP. Notice how this keyword has a search volume of 60 but the page gets 76 visitors per month. And get this… the top article has zero referring domains pointing at them.
Now, what does it mean? It means it is more likely a low competition keyword. When you pick topics with more long-tail keywords, you can generate a lot more organic traffic since you will be ranking in a lot of long-tail variations.
The question that remains is – how can you find these topics? There are three simple strategies that you can follow with the use of the Ahrefs tool.
#1 Look for modifier keywords within a broader topic
Look at the example keyword ‘white dress’ on the Keyword Explorer > select Phrase match report > then include a modifier word like ‘with’.
You will then see that there are over 8,000 keywords that you can target. And by looking at the Keyword Difficulty scores, you will see that these are quite easy topics to rank for.
Also, you can explore further by clicking the SERP button to study the articles that rank for this specific keyword.
#2 Add location to the keyword
Looking at the results of ‘rent house in…’ you will see that most of the keywords have low search volume. You might just be too hesitant to create content for that, but look at it this way.
Think of roughly 20 keywords within the long-tail range to target multiplied by 300 search volume, then you got yourself 6,000 searches per month.
#3 Look at questions on a topic
The best thing about this strategy is that you can use this even to highly competitive niches as well. In the Keyword Explorer type the target keyword (in this example ‘weight loss’).
Click on the Questions report. Since it is a highly competitive niche, you will notice that the Keyword Difficulty score is relatively high. What you want to do is hit on the KD score to something low – in this example a maximum KD score of 5.
Here is where you will see a goldmine: target the long-tail keywords in your articles. With these questions, you can create an FAQ in your content and start getting traffic from these long-tail phrases.
The long-tail keywords are very great with new websites or those who have not yet built an authoritative backend profile yet. So, if you are a brand that is planning to break into your niche, you can use this to your advantage to maximize your conversion rates.
3. Educate the target audience by link building in potential sites
Getting that approval on guest posting is one thing, writing an impressive article is another. When you are writing for these sites, treat their audience as your own.
Provide them with content that is educational and informative. But what is the relation of this? Come to think of it, even if the content is superb, it still won’t be on your own site, so why bother?
By creating great content for these websites, their audience will engage more. And it will be more likely that your links will be exposed to this audience too.
If they find that that specific content is very helpful for them and see your link, they will deem you as a reliable source. Then, you might find yourself with new visitors and eventually customers.
AnswerThePublic is a tool that will help you gather insights to have a deeper understanding of how your target audience searches around topics related to your niche.
When we type in the word ‘cake’ in the search bar, it showed tons of possible questions that people are interested to know about.
Then, the keyword with different prepositions and comparisons that you can also consider in creating your content.
This way, you can create content that is optimized, targeted as possible, and most importantly answers their questions.
4. Increase branding and customer loyalty by organic link building through your featured logo or case studies
You can focus on your link building campaign across different sites. Once your links are clicked by their visitors, amaze them with how beautifully curated your website is and make them your loyal visitors and customers.
Optimize it so these visitors wouldn’t want to leave without checking out your products. And if you get lucky, you can even entice them to buy and avail of your products and services.
Although that is easier said than done, it is important that you use your one-on-one interaction with your visitors/customers and with everything you already know about them and uses it to deliver a relevant, real-time experience.

Given that you know each of your customers very well, it greatly helps in building customer loyalty too.
5. Be a problem solver/expert in your niche by organic link building in forums. comments, and Q&A sites
Don’t just target and focus on sites, scour their comment sections, Q & A sites, and forums as well, this includes:
Answer questions pertaining to the products and services of your niche. You need to be ready with useful answers to all their questions. Then, with every useful answer that you give out, include a link to your product/service.
By including links to your site, they would view it as your products to be the answer to their problems, and customers will know that you really are a reliable source.
And get this, organic link building does not only help you maximize conversions. It also has an add-on benefit. Since organic link building increases domain authority and organic traffic this will eventually lead to high ranking in Google.
Needless to say of its domino effect, it can help the company cut the budget for AdSense. And if you can master this approach, you can even cut your advertising expense as a whole.
