CRO Strategist

We’re looking for a CRO Strategist to join our Optimization Services team at Omniconvert.

This is a hands-on, data-driven role where you’ll be responsible for turning research into prioritized, testable hypotheses, running A/B testing programs, and clearly explaining why something should (or shouldn’t) be tested.

You’ll work closely with designers, developers, QA, and data analysts — and directly with clients — to ship experiments that have a measurable business impact.

Important: This role is open only to candidates based in Romania. Applications from outside Romania will not be considered.

What you’ll do

CRO Strategy & Experimentation
  • Build and prioritize CRO roadmaps aligned with client goals, traffic levels, and technical constraints
  • Conduct quantitative & qualitative research (analytics, heatmaps, user recordings, surveys, competitor analysis)
  • Formulate clear, testable hypotheses and define success metrics before experiments are launched
  • Own experiments from idea to conclusion — including analysis, interpretation, and recommendations
  • Decide what should be tested and why
Collaboration & Experiment Delivery
  • Work closely with design, development, QA, and data teams to deliver experiments correctly
  • Write clear, structured tickets for each experiment, explicitly stating expected behavior, scope and edge cases, tracking and validation requirements
  • Act as the main point of clarification for other teams, answering questions and unblocking execution
  • Review implementations before launch and ensure they match the original request and hypothesis
  • Flag inconsistencies, missing logic, or incorrect implementations early — and follow through until resolved

You are responsible for the quality, correctness, and clarity of the experiment definition, while implementation and validation are carried out in collaboration with design, development, and QA teams.

Client Communication & Reporting
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients across calls, email, and Slack
  • Lead regular client meetings (weekly / bi-monthly), presenting insights, results, and next steps
  • Provide clear, structured async updates via email or Slack (progress, blockers, decisions needed)
  • Translate experiment results and data insights into actionable recommendations
  • Communicate constraints and trade-offs transparently (traffic, tech, timelines, budget)
  • Ensure stakeholders are aligned on priorities, status, and impact at all times

What we’re looking for

Must-have
  • Proven experience in CRO, UX optimization, experimentation, or digital analytics
  • Strong understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methods (analytics, heatmaps, session recordings, surveys, user feedback, competitor analysis)
  • Ability to translate research and data into clear experiment briefs and priorities
  • Analytical mindset with a strong focus on decision-making, not just reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (you will communicate with clients and internal teams via calls, email, and Slack)
  • Fluency in Romanian and English (spoken and written) — part of the first interview will be conducted in English
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in parallel in a structured way
  • Proactive mindset — you identify problems, ask questions early, and follow through
Nice-to-have
  • Experience designing and owning A/B tests end-to-end (hypothesis, requirements, success metrics, analysis, and conclusions)
  • Experience with eCommerce or subscription-based businesses
  • Familiarity with email marketing and lifecycle messaging
  • Experience with customer journey mapping, CLV, or CVO frameworks
  • Previous experience in an agency or consulting environment
