AI Ad Generator Pricing in 2026: What Each Tool Costs
- Entry plans on the self-serve tools I checked run from $14 to $39 a month, and the units behind those prices are not the same.
- A credit is not a common currency: 20 credits at one vendor and 200 at another do not buy ten times the work.
- Only Creatify's page says its free-plan exports carry a watermark, so ask before you build a campaign on any other free output.
- Annual billing lowers the monthly figure and locks the spend, which hurts most where unused credits expire.
- The cheapest sticker is rarely the cheapest approved ad, because iteration burns credits before a usable version appears.
- A price tag says nothing about profit, so measure each ad on what it earns after costs, not on what it cost to make.
AI ad generator pricing looks simple and is not. Every tool lists a monthly price, but each sells output in its own unit: credits, generations or catalog size. I opened the pricing page of seven tools on 21 October 2026 and wrote down what the entry plan costs, what it caps, and whether you can try it free. The lowest sticker is $14 a month [Pencil, 2026]. Whether that makes it the cheapest tool is decided by how many of your ads survive review.
I have spent 13 years in eCommerce, and CROBenchmark covers 7,000+ websites in 15+ industries against 248+ audit criteria [CROBenchmark Report 2026, Omniconvert]. In all that work a tool's price has never told me whether it would earn its place. What it produces, and whether you measure it, does. I run Omniconvert, so our own product sits in the table too: Omniconvert Commander (formerly Nexus) is the AI eCommerce growth engine for Shopify brands: it reads your store, ad and customer data, ranks growth opportunities by profit impact, and builds the campaigns to act on them, and you approve what goes live.
This page covers cost only. It sits under our complete guide to AI ad creative generation. For tools ranked on output, read the best AI ad generator for Shopify.
What is AI ad generator pricing, and what does it cover?
AI ad generator pricing is defined as the recurring fee for a tool that turns product data and prompts into ad creative, metered by credits, generations or catalog size rather than by seats.
Pencil meters generations: 50 a month on Core [Pencil, 2026]. Creatify, Omneky and AdCreative.ai meter credits. Marpipe meters live designs and SKUs, because it builds catalog ads. Smartly sells to enterprise teams and publishes no figure at all. Seats, brands and markets are a second meter on top.
AI ad generator pricing by tool, October 2026
| Tool | Entry plan | Price per month | What the entry plan caps | Free trial or free tier |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pencil | Core | $14 [Pencil, 2026] | 50 generations a month, 1 workspace | No free plan listed; a guided first six ads are free |
| Creatify | Standard | $15 [Creatify, 2026] | 55 credits a month, 1 seat, 1 brand space, credits expire after 2 months | Free plan with 10 credits a month, watermarked exports |
| Omneky | Lite | $29 [Omneky, 2026] | 200 credits, 1 brand, 1 seat | 7-day free trial |
| AdCreative.ai | Starter | $39 [AdCreative.ai, 2026] | 20 credits a month, 1 brand, 1 user | 7-day free trial |
| Marpipe | Startup (catalog creative) | $199 [Marpipe, 2026] | 3 live designs, 1 channel, 1 market, 500 SKU cap | Free plan listed, limits not stated; no trial stated |
| Smartly | Not published | On request | Not published | Demo only |
| Omniconvert Commander | Free plan, then Creator | $0 free plan; Creator $49, Growth $199, Scale $499, billed monthly through Shopify | 900 credits a month on the free plan; Unlimited on a custom quote | Free plan, free to install on Shopify |
Two honest caveats. AdCreative.ai has no standalone pricing page, so I read its figure from the pricing section of its homepage, and that section is inconsistent about its own savings claims. Treat the figure as monthly billing and check the page before you buy. Marpipe also does a different job: it builds catalog ads, which is why its entry plan costs more.
What is the cheapest AI ad creative tool?
Read the lowest rows carefully. Pencil gives you 50 generations for $14 a month [Pencil, 2026], and a generation is one output you may not keep. Creatify gives you 55 credits for $15 [Creatify, 2026], and its page lists a free plan too. Omneky offers 200 credits for $29 [Omneky, 2026]. AdCreative.ai offers 20 credits for $39 [AdCreative.ai, 2026].
Do not read that as Omneky being ten times better value than AdCreative.ai. A credit is not a common currency: one vendor spends it on a static image, another on a short video. The fair comparison is how many finished, approved ads one month of the plan gives you.
For a steady supply of static variations at the lowest sticker, the first two rows win. For thousands of catalog SKUs, the $199 row [Marpipe, 2026] is cheap for what it does. For output quality, see the best AI ad creative tools for Shopify.
Which AI ad creative tool has a free trial or free plan?
A watermarked free tier is defined as a standing plan whose exports carry the vendor's mark, so you can judge the output but cannot run it as an ad. Creatify's free plan is the one on this list that says so: 10 credits a month and watermarked exports [Creatify, 2026].
The other pages are silent about watermarks, and silence is not a yes. Omneky and AdCreative.ai both describe a seven-day free trial [Omneky, 2026] [AdCreative.ai, 2026]. Pencil's page offers six ads through a guided experience, but full access needs a paid plan [Pencil, 2026]. Marpipe lists a $0 plan and does not say what it includes [Marpipe, 2026].
So during any trial, export one finished asset at full size and look for a mark. Do it on day one, not on day six.
Why does the sticker price mislead?
Here is the failure I see most often on pricing. A team picks the tool with the lowest sticker, starts on the free tier, and buys the annual plan because the discount looks like a saving. Then they find that fixing one headline or one off-brand product shot takes five regenerations, and the monthly credits are gone by the second week. Creatify's paid credits expire after two months [Creatify, 2026], so credits left unused also vanish. The team ends up paying for a locked year and running the same handful of ads.
Five checks fix most of it before you pay:
- Name the unit. Credits, generations, SKUs or designs, and what one finished ad consumes of it.
- Find the cap. Seats, brands, markets and live designs end a plan faster than credits do.
- Check the watermark. Export one asset in the trial and look at it.
- Check expiry. Credits that vanish punish uneven months.
- Pay monthly first. Go annual only once you know your real use. Pencil Core is $11 a month billed annually and $14 billed monthly [Pencil, 2026], so the saving is real and so is the lock-in.
For UGC video the unit changes again: see the best AI UGC ad generators. For copy, see the best AI ad copy generators. The category itself is explained in what is an AI UGC video ad generator.
What should the price buy: output or profit?
A monthly fee of $14 [Pencil, 2026] or $39 [AdCreative.ai, 2026] is small next to ad spend. The expensive mistake is running unproven creative at scale. What pays back is a structured way to test it.
AliveCor used Omniconvert to run a structured A/B testing programme and achieved +21% conversion rate, +5% revenue per visitor, and 94% statistical relevance across their experiments. [Omniconvert, AliveCor case study]
So spend your attention on measurement, not on the price of generation. A cheap tool that gives you more ads and no way to tell which earned money has moved the cost somewhere you cannot see it. I wrote about the measurement side in how to measure true profit, not ROAS, and about the metric itself in what is true profit in eCommerce.
This is where Omniconvert Commander is priced differently, and where it is not the right pick. It has a free plan, then Creator at $49, Growth at $199 and Scale at $499 a month, billed monthly through Shopify, with Unlimited on a custom quote. It generates launch-ready assets from customer data, measures each ad in True Profit, and gives a scale, hold, reduce or kill recommendation per ad that you approve. If you only need a quick batch of static variations and nothing else, Pencil Core or Creatify Standard is the closer fit. AI ad generator pricing: FAQs
What is AI ad generator pricing?
It is the recurring fee for a tool that turns product data and prompts into ad creative. Most vendors meter it by credits, generations or catalog size, and cap seats, brands or markets as a second limit. The monthly price alone does not tell you the cost of one finished ad.
What is a credit in an AI ad generator?
A credit is the vendor's own unit of metered output, and it is not a shared currency. AdCreative.ai lists 20 credits on Starter for $39 a month [AdCreative.ai, 2026], while Omneky lists 200 credits on Lite for $29 [Omneky, 2026]. Compare the cost of a finished ad, not the cost of a credit.
Do free AI ad generator plans watermark the output?
Some do. Creatify's page says exports on its free plan include a watermark [Creatify, 2026]. The pricing pages for Pencil, Omneky, AdCreative.ai and Marpipe say nothing either way, so export one asset during the trial and look at it before you plan a campaign around it.
Is annual billing worth it for an AI ad generator?
Only after you have run the monthly plan long enough to know your credit use. Annual billing lowers the figure: Pencil Core is $11 a month billed annually against $14 billed monthly [Pencil, 2026]. Creatify credits expire after two months on its paid plans [Creatify, 2026], so unused credits on a locked year are a real loss.
What is the cheapest AI ad creative tool?
On sticker price, Pencil Core at $14 a month [Pencil, 2026] is the lowest paid entry, then Creatify Standard at $15 [Creatify, 2026]. Omniconvert Commander has a free plan, then Creator at $49, Growth at $199 and Scale at $499 a month. The cheapest tool in practice is the one with the lowest cost per approved ad.
How is Omniconvert Commander priced?
Omniconvert Commander has a free plan at $0, free to install on Shopify, with 900 credits a month. Paid plans are Creator at $49, Growth at $199 and Scale at $499 a month, billed monthly through Shopify, and Unlimited is on a custom quote. It generates launch-ready assets from customer data, and you approve what goes live.
Pay for approved ads
The honest answer on AI ad generator pricing is that the sticker is the wrong number. Pencil at $14 a month [Pencil, 2026] and AdCreative.ai at $39 [AdCreative.ai, 2026] sell different units, so the monthly fee cannot rank them. Before you buy, name the unit, find the cap, check one export for a watermark, and pay monthly until you know your use. Then judge the plan by cost per approved ad, and the ad by what it earns after costs. Omniconvert Commander has a free plan and paid plans from $49 a month, and you approve what goes live.
