Best POAS and Profit Tracking Tools for Shopify, Ranked
- POAS is profit before ad spend divided by ad spend, so 1.0 is break-even. ROAS cannot tell you where break-even sits.
- A profit tracker is only as accurate as the costs you feed it. One blended cost-of-goods rate turns a profit number back into a guess.
- Lifetimely and TrueProfit are the strongest dedicated trackers here. They report profit well and leave the decision to you.
- Per-ad profit is the dimension that separates the tools. It is what lets you cut one ad without cutting the whole campaign.
- Triple Whale and Polar Analytics are broader analytics stacks, so profit is one feature among many and the price reflects that.
- Omniconvert Commander ranks first by two points, and it is our product, so check the scores against your own needs. It is strongest on per-ad True Profit and on what happens next, and it is the wrong pick if you need a full P&L.
Most Shopify stores hold a ROAS number and no profit number. The best POAS and profit tracking tools for Shopify close that gap. They put product cost, shipping, fees and returns beside the ad bill, so you see what each ad earned after it paid its way. This page ranks six profit tracking tools for Shopify on one rubric, scored on 21 October 2026.
I have spent 13 years in eCommerce, and one mistake keeps returning: a campaign that looks healthy in revenue and loses money once costs are counted. Omniconvert's CROBenchmark audits 7,000+ websites in 15+ industries against 248+ criteria [CROBenchmark Report 2026, Omniconvert]. None of that tells me your margin. Only your own cost data does.
Omniconvert Commander (formerly Nexus) is the AI eCommerce growth engine for Shopify brands: it reads your store, ad and customer data, ranks growth opportunities by profit impact, and builds the campaigns to act on them, and you approve what goes live. It is on this list because it measures True Profit per ad. It is our product and it ranks first here, so every score is shown below, and I say where a dedicated tracker is the better buy.
For the metrics themselves, read what POAS is and how true profit is calculated. This page covers the software.
How did we rank the best POAS and profit tracking tools for Shopify?
Each tool scores out of 100 on the same six dimensions. POAS is defined as profit before ad spend divided by ad spend, so the rubric rewards tools that count every cost before the ad bill and then show the result per ad.
Scores come from each vendor's own pages and its Shopify App Store listing, read on 21 October 2026.
| Dimension | Weight | What earns the points |
|---|---|---|
| Cost coverage and accuracy | 25 | Product cost, shipping, fees, returns, custom costs and ad spend all enter the number |
| Per-ad and per-campaign profit | 20 | Profit shown at the level where you can scale or cut |
| Customer value | 15 | LTV, CAC, cohorts or RFM beside the profit |
| Action on the number | 15 | A recommendation or workflow after the number appears |
| Price and setup | 15 | Entry cost, free tier or trial, effort to a first trusted number |
| Evidence | 10 | Public review base and track record |
Best profit tracking tools for Shopify at a glance

- TrueProfit, 71 out of 100. The lowest-friction net profit dashboard, priced by order volume.
- Triple Whale, 64 out of 100. Attribution and an AI operator first, profit as one feature.
- BeProfit, 63 out of 100. A unified profit dashboard across several stores.
- Polar Analytics, 60 out of 100. A data stack with its own warehouse, not a profit app.
The top two sit one point apart because they answer different questions. Omniconvert Commander judges it ad by ad.

The best profit tracking tools for Shopify, ranked
1. Omniconvert Commander, 80 out of 100
Omniconvert Commander measures True Profit per ad. It unifies store, Meta and Google data, reconciles against the platforms daily, and recommends scale, hold, reduce or kill on each ad. You approve every recommendation. That earns the top marks here for per-ad profit and for action. It also reads customer intelligence such as RFM segments and CLV. It loses points where the dedicated trackers win. It is not a P&L or accounting suite, it covers Meta and Google only, and it is the newest tool here, so its review base is the smallest. It has a free plan, then Creator at $49, Growth at $199 and Scale at $499 a month, billed monthly through Shopify, with Unlimited on a custom quote. The free plan and a setup under 1 hour earn 12 of 15 on price and setup. It sits behind Lifetimely and TrueProfit because a per-ad figure needs your ad accounts connected as well as your store.
Best for: Shopify brands that buy on Meta and Google and want each ad judged on profit, with a recommendation they approve.
Honest limitation: if you need a P&L with every cost line and years of history, Lifetimely or TrueProfit is the better buy. Run one of them for the books and Omniconvert Commander for the ad decisions.
2. Lifetimely, 78 out of 100
Lifetimely, from AMP, calls itself an AI profit analyst for Shopify brands. Its page describes one P&L view that holds sales, marketing spend, product costs, fees and operating expenses, with LTV, CAC and cohort views beside it. That mix earns the top mark here for customer value. A free plan covers stores up to 50 orders a month without the Profit Agent, and paid plans start with a 14-day trial [Lifetimely pricing, 2026]. Its Shopify listing shows 4.9 from 567 reviews [Shopify App Store, 2026]. It loses points on action: it flags changes and suggests next steps, but its page describes profit at business, channel and campaign level, not a verdict on each ad. See the Lifetimely alternatives and Lifetimely against Triple Whale.
Best for: Shopify brands, from the smallest stores up, that want a P&L and lifetime value in one tool.
3. TrueProfit, 71 out of 100
TrueProfit is a net profit app for Shopify sellers. It tracks ad spend, cost of goods, shipping, transaction fees and custom costs, and offers a profit dashboard, product analytics, a P&L report, CLV and expense tracking. It takes the top cost coverage score here. Plans scale with order volume, from $35 a month for 300 orders to $200 a month for 3,500 [TrueProfit pricing, 2026]. Each plan has a 14-day free trial, and each store needs its own plan. Product analytics and the P&L report start on the $60 Advanced plan, and marketing attribution on the $200 Enterprise plan [TrueProfit pricing, 2026]. The Shopify listing shows 4.9 from 919 reviews [Shopify App Store, 2026]. It reports profit well and leaves the next move to you.
Best for: small and mid-sized stores that want a Shopify profit tracking app with an accurate net profit view and little setup.
4. Triple Whale, 64 out of 100
Triple Whale calls itself an AI operating system for ecommerce, and its Shopify listing says 60,000+ brands use it [Shopify App Store, 2026]. Profit analysis sits on its paid plans, one feature on a platform built around attribution, with first and last click on the free plan and multi-touch from the $219 Foundation plan [Shopify App Store, 2026]. Moby 2, which it describes as an AI operator that acts in your ad accounts, earns the points on action. Profit is a feature rather than the optimization target, and the listing shows 4.1 from 94 reviews [Shopify App Store, 2026]. For a one-to-one view, read Omniconvert Commander and Triple Whale Moby compared, or the wider Triple Whale alternatives list.
Best for: brands that want attribution and an AI operator first, with profit as one view among several.
5. BeProfit, 63 out of 100
BeProfit is a profit analytics tool built around a unified dashboard across several stores. Its page promises net true profit with a full breakdown of costs, plus fee analysis for shipping, fulfilment and discounts, on Shopify, Amazon and WooCommerce, with a 14-day free trial. The page names no LTV or AI features, which holds the customer value and action scores down. Shopify plans run from $49 to $249 a month [Shopify App Store, 2026], and the listing shows 4.5 from 203 reviews [Shopify App Store, 2026].
Best for: merchants who run several stores and want one profit dashboard across them.
6. Polar Analytics, 60 out of 100
Polar Analytics sells a data stack: its own Snowflake warehouse, a semantic layer with pre-built metrics, business intelligence, incrementality testing and AI agents. It says 4,000+ ecommerce brands and agencies use it [Polar Analytics, 2026]. Its homepage names no profit module, which holds cost coverage down. Its Shopify listing prices the Core plan from $750 a month, based on online GMV [Shopify App Store, 2026]. The listing shows 4.9 from 116 reviews [Shopify App Store, 2026]. That is a lot for a store that only wants a profit number.
Best for: larger brands that want one warehouse behind every report, profit included.
Why is a profit number only half the job?
The failure I see most in this topic is the blended cost-of-goods shortcut. Per-product costs are tedious to enter, so a team types one average rate for the whole catalog. The dashboard turns green, and the bestseller gets more budget. The bestseller is often the product with the thinnest margin and the highest returns, so the spend climbs on the wrong item for months. The tracker did what it was told. The inputs were the problem. Enter cost of goods per product, using the cost of goods sold formula, and check the app against how to measure true profit, not ROAS before you trust it.
The second half is the decision. A profit figure changes nothing until someone tests a fix and ships it.
AliveCor used Omniconvert to run a structured A/B testing programme and achieved +21% conversion rate, +5% revenue per visitor, and 94% statistical relevance across their experiments. [Omniconvert, AliveCor case study]
The same discipline applies to ad budgets. A tracker that reports and an engine that recommends are different purchases, and many brands need both. What an AI marketing lead can and cannot do is in AI CMO for Shopify. Background on the terms used above: Omniconvert Commander.
Profit tracking tools for Shopify: frequently asked questions
POAS, or profit on ad spend, is defined as profit before ad spend divided by ad spend. A POAS of 1.0 is break-even, and above 1.0 the campaign leaves profit after the ad bill. ROAS cannot show that, because it ignores the cost of the goods you ship.
ROAS divides revenue by ad spend. POAS divides profit before ad spend by ad spend. Two campaigns with the same ROAS can have very different POAS when their products carry different margins and return rates, so POAS is the safer number to set budgets by.
Every cost that changes when you win one more order: cost of goods, payment fees, fulfilment, shipping you pay, a returns provision, discounts and ad spend. Leave out rent, salaries and software. Check that the app lets you set cost of goods per product and not as one blended rate.
During the free trial, pick one week and rebuild the profit by hand for ten orders. Compare the app's ad spend with Meta and Google, check cost of goods on your top five products, and confirm refunds land in the right period. If a line is off, fix the input before you trust the output.
Start with a dedicated tracker. Lifetimely lists a free plan for stores up to 50 orders a month [Lifetimely pricing, 2026], and TrueProfit lists entry plans from $35 a month [TrueProfit pricing, 2026]. Paid plans on both come with a 14-day free trial.
A profit dashboard reports the number. Omniconvert Commander measures True Profit per ad, reconciles it against Meta and Google daily, and recommends scale, hold, reduce or kill on each ad. You approve what goes live. It is not an accounting suite, so keep a P&L tool for the whole business.
Lifetimely is best for a P&L with lifetime value, TrueProfit for the lowest-friction net profit view, and Omniconvert Commander for per-ad True Profit with a recommendation you approve. Triple Whale suits attribution first, BeProfit multi-store reporting, Polar Analytics a custom data stack.
Rank the ads by what they keep
A profit tracker is only useful if the number changes a decision. Omniconvert Commander is the AI eCommerce growth engine that measures True Profit per ad and recommends what to scale and what to stop, and you approve what goes live.
