What is...

Cart abandonment

Cart abandonment defines the process of abandoning a virtual shopping cart after adding products into it. The term is used in e-commerce when shoppers add products in their online shopping carts but leave the website without purchasing those products. A high cart abandonment rate means that something is preventing people from completing the orders. It may be hidden shipping costs, hidden taxes, the lack of trust badges or of social proof and so on. See also shopping cart abandonment.
